Dentures and Partial Dentures

At our dental practice, we focus on preventing dental conditions so that we can minimize tooth loss, dental emergencies, and discomfort. Sometimes, however, patients need a solution to replace their already missing teeth so that they can have self-confidence, maintain a healthy diet, and speak comfortably.

Dr. Steve Chu offers the latest that modern dentures have to offer. The bulky, too-white, unnatural look of your grandparents’ dentures is history! Today’s dentures provide lightweight, natural-looking comfort and function so that you can focus on living life to the fullest.

Complete (Full) Dentures

Complete dentures replace all of your teeth on your upper or lower arch. Full dentures consist of a pink resin base and artificial teeth. A good fit and comfortable function is necessary for you to be able to eat and speak properly. Your upper dentures create a seal with your upper palate. Your lower dentures rely on your bony ridge to keep them stable.

Dr. Steve Chu is experienced at designing dentures that not only look great, but also feel comfortable and stay put. Ill-fitting dentures can create sores or move when you speak. Because of the natural progression of bone loss after you lose your teeth, you may need to replace your dentures periodically to ensure a continued good fit.

When designing your custom dentures, we can discuss the appearance and shade that will complement your facial features and age so that they look great – as well as realistic.

Traditional Partial Dentures

Traditional partial dentures consist of either a pink resin or metal base and artificial teeth. They replace your missing teeth, using your remaining natural teeth as anchors. When we design partials, we match them to your natural teeth so that your smile looks consistent.

Flexible Partial Dentures

For some patients, having flexible partial dentures can offer you exceptional comfort and freedom. Made of nylon, they move with you when you eat and speak, giving you greater comfort. Additionally, they are virtually unbreakable!

They are bacteria and smell resistant, giving you fresher breath.

Caring for Your Dentures

When caring for your dentures, it is important to use only denture cleanser designed for your specific type of dentures. Abrasive materials can scuff the surface of your denture, creating a harbor for bacteria and giving you bad breath.

When dentures sustain damage, it is often because of dropping them on the floor or sink. Leaving them in a hot car or using hot water to clean them may cause your dentures to distort.

At night, or anytime you are not wearing your dentures, be sure to keep them in water or a cleaning solution.
